Secret is there is no secret - Finding an Apartment in Athens Georgia (or anywhere for that matter) is as personal as the sheets you'll put on your bed when you move in.

The First Step To Finding Your New Apartment In Athens Georgia Is Obvious

You need to (you probably already have) figure out why you are moving to Athens Georgia.

• Are you going to School in Athens? Which one?
• Did you just get a new cool job?
• Retiring
• Are you the next R.E.M.?
• Are you a bum - How are you going to afford an apartment?

If you are moving to go to U.G.A., you may not want to rent an apartment right next to Georgia Square Mall, especially if you don't have a car. Sure there's the mass-transit system but I wouldn't recommend that from that far out.

UPDATE: A friendly rep from Athens Transit contacted us and wanted to make sure we made clear that transit service is available to Georgia Square Mall:

Currently there is a bus at the mall once an hour all day long, 6 days a week, from 7 am- 9pm. In the fall of 08, there will be additional services added to the west side of town and 1/2 hour services will be avalible during paek hours al the way out to Mitchell Bridge rd and the new Exchange apartments.

I try not to be confusing, so I wanted to post that.  So I'm going to change the previous statement a little:

If you just got a management job at a local business, you probably don't want to rent an apartment in downtown Athens (unless your managing a record company).

In fact, unless you are managing a record company, I wouldn't recommend an apartment in Downtown Athens Georgia......
